Kandinsky: The Bauhaus Years

May 10, 2024

Beaumont Nathan Art Advisory, a leading force in the art world, proudly announces the celebration of its ten-year anniversary. Founded in May 2014 by Wentworth Beaumont and Hugo Nathan, the firm has played a pivotal role in shaping some of the most significant private and public art collections globally.

As part of the 10th anniversary celebration, Beaumont Nathan is thrilled to unveil a private exhibition featuring works by Wassily Kandinsky, titled “Kandinsky: The Bauhaus Years.” The exhibition will be co-curated by noted scholar Olivier Berggruen and Co-Founder Hugo Nathan, and will focus on exceptional paintings and works on paper from the artist’s prime Bauhaus period. The exhibition will be open by appointment only from May 7th to the 17th. The selection will include rare and rarely-seen examples of Kandinsky’s work – all of which have been acquired by Beaumont Nathan on behalf of private collectors, offering a unique glimpse into a pivotal moment in the artist’s career.

Wassily Kandinsky is celebrated as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century for his role in the development of Modern art. In 1922 he was invited to teach at the famous Bauhaus School in Weimar, a period which subsequently changed the course of non-objective art and later inspired movements such as Abstract Expressionism. Kandinsky’s work has also played an important role in New York collections, thanks to the legendary patronage of Solomon R Guggenheim.

Beaumont Nathan has demonstrated unparalleled expertise in advising both buyers and sellers at the top end of the market. Their unique approach, combining art-historical connoisseurship, commercial acumen, and market intelligence, has resulted in the creation of exceptional collections for some of the most discerning collectors in today’s market. In 2021, Beaumont Nathan expanded its reach with the establishment of a New York office, and in 2024, they proudly opened a new office in London, further solidifying their international presence.

Wentworth Beaumont, Co-Founder of Beaumont Nathan, expressed his excitement about the milestone and the upcoming exhibition, stating, “We are incredibly proud to mark a decade of excellence in art advisory. This exhibition of works by Kandinsky is a testament to our commitment to providing unparalleled access to exceptional works of art.”

Hugo Nathan, Co-Founder, added, “Our expansion in New York and London reflects the global impact of our work. We look forward to continuing our journey, facilitating meaningful connections between collectors and exceptional works of art.”

The private exhibition promises to be a highlight of the firm’s anniversary, showcasing the dedication and passion that have been the hallmarks of Beaumont Nathan over the past ten years.
